Any suggestions on getting a good deal? I've tried the local car dealers but walking in just seems to waste my time... they give me the run around and try to sell me anything on the lot.

Pretty frustrating to be honest, I filled out a contact form at www.autos.com (http://referer.us/9/newcar) and had 3 good calls. One guy had a Red Corolla for $11,299 but it was sold by the time I got off work. Soo instead of waiting I thought I'd ask for some advice.

Should I just keep calling until someone has the one I want in... or should I order it custom... but if I order it custom what about negotiating the price???

My wife bought her 2003 Corolla New and it's literally falling apart. Check engine light turned on and it was determined the Catalytic convert had gone bad. Her car has had constant electrical problems. First the door ajar light would come on at random times, the clock has stopped working. The door panels are peeling away from the door. Other problems we have had with the car includes the alternator going out last year. I did the work myself, but the alternator from NAPA costed $300. The dealership wanted $600 and NAPA offered a lifetime replacement warranty so I went with theirs. She has said, and I've read that for some people (I think it has to deal with height), the center partition blocks the view and she has to twist her neck excessively to check her blind spots.

Corolla's don't have a great reputation. How about a Mazda instead?

Mazda? No Way! Only buy Aussie mate, Ford or Holden. Anything else, forget it!

Hi there - your wife is lucky to be getting a new car. Might be worth looking on a corulla car forum such as http://www.rollaclub.com/board/ for advice on cars?
