boost for jobs and surrounding areas....think I read an article earlier in the year about property prices had doubled...due to all the mining activity...
now the qld govt has given the ok for a nickel refinery
any posters from that location on here to update us??

Don't forget the LNG plans, and proposed coal terminal.

I was thinking it must be a good area for the future, but looks like investors were already thinking that a long time before I was :)

I've been up there, still a fairly relaxed place, but if all these projects do get off the ground, will be quite a bustling metropolis.

I just did a search and there is currently listed 190 properties under $350k in Gladstone itself. Looks like some may already be getting a bit worried due to the GFC.

I have just stumbles accross your post as i'm currently looking at Gladstone.

Have you since invested there? im thinking of investing in thje area as here in WA there have recently been some articles relaesed and i have found multiple websites that promote the area such as below.
