I am interested in what interest rates people are paying on their investment properties.

I have variable rate loan that is 8.39% P&I (CBA) on an investment property, which I think is a little high but am finding it difficult to get a comparison.

Seems a little high if it is variable. Each of the bank sites give rates. Should be in the 6s by now unless commercial. Should not discriminate for investment loans.

It could also be a higher risk in the short term. Although the rent is almost certainly over 20, you could easily lose its value over the next five years, especially if you buy on the market overheated. It takes a potential annual yield to compensate for this risk.

I am not sure what this post meant but it does not seem to relate to interest rates in 2008! There was no property mentioned in the previous posts so what property are you comparing it to that is losing value?

I am agree with kristen's opinion that it could be a higher risk in the short term. You could loose its value for next five years. So my advice is to review your decision again. It will not suits you.

Property investment is a great investment is an excellent; interest rate is the amount of interest the investor pays annually to borrow money from the lender.

It looks like we won't be buying after all. The house we were considering is already under contract - after less than a week on the market. I knew it was priced to sell, but I'm a little surprised, given the market.

When investing in a property it is important to apply with a particular lender depending on your specific situation. Each investor has their own investment goals and risk profile. Accordingly, you may be better suited with a particular lender.
For small loan amounts the fees are more important than the interest rates, so you should check for any hidden fees, particularly ones associated with settlement such as legal fees and settlement attendance fees.
