I am a 49 year old mother of two children, aged 16 and 21. I am currently homeless as I have been evicted and unfairly placed on the Tica List. Up until my last home I had a very good rental record spanning 23 years, but my real estate agent placed me on the list without notifying me, because of an incident between my neighbour and myself in which I was physically assaulted. My neighbour was later charged with this in court.
Since being evicted in September, I have been living in motels and paying up to $450 a week rent. I have also slept in my car on many nights. My children are living with my parents in Sydney whilst I am writing letters to real estates and organizations, but no one seems able to help me. I urgently need a home and would appreciate anyone who is willing to lend me any assistance or advice at all, or someone willing to give me a chance to lease from them.

Leanne, please call your local Legal Aid office or Community Legal Centre or walk in and make an urgent appointment. They will help you apply to remove the unfair listing and be compensated for the unjust eviction. They can also launch a formal complaint with the real estate agent's professional body and the State's real estate agents licensing authority for unacceptable conduct.

You've been burned Leanne but you must fight for your rights - nobody else will!
