Geelong Area

Hi all,

Looking at moving to the Geelong area in the next few years (3-5) and we are now looking at purchasing a property (3-4 bedroom house) that we will rent out until we are ready to move.

The areas we would be looking at are
Highton
Grovedale
Waurn Ponds

But are open to other areas. Suggestions?

At the moment the plan is to buy in the 350-450k range and we would also consider buying a place that is still in good condition (rentable) but is starting to age and will eventually need a reno - which we would do before we move but it would have to be at the right price.

We would also be looking for a good property manager to look after the property till we move down there. So any contacts would be great.

Any thoughts or ideas would be great.

not sure if you are still logging in, but newtown is a great area in geelong. pako st has a fabulous cafe culture happening, restaurants, a few pubs, some neat boutiques, homeware shops, supermarkets and it is close to the centre of town...i'd definitely consider newtown. also, there are some nice pockets in east geelong. a lot of old victorian style homes on large blocks...

Geelong is the second most popular city in Victoria and I guess it would be great if you seek advice from real estate agents around Victoria which is the best area in that city.

I've already heard a lot about Geelong. But I've never been there yet.

There are lot of places in Geelong that you'll surely find interest with

Geelong is the ideal location to book some accommodation and take your time on tours of the local wineries, Great Ocean Road, Shipwreck Coast and the Bellarine Peninsula. There are also number of guided tours and self guided tours of historic Geelong sites and popular tourism attractions. Being one of Australia's favourite coastal towns there are also a number of opportunities to participate in sightseeing boat and fishing tours on Corio Bay.
